HARDI is Harnessing the Future of eLearning

July 11, 2023 | 3 minute read

The HVACR industry is constantly evolving, and the same is true for eLearning technologies. eLearning has come a long way since its early days, and today’s learners demand interactive, multimedia-rich content that can be accessed through a variety of devices and platforms.

This article will highlight how HARDI is positioned to support the eLearning needs of the HVACR industry and discuss trends and emerging technologies that are poised to transform the eLearning landscape.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has already made its mark on eLearning, and the trend will only continue in the coming years. HARDI members who leverage HARDI’s HEAT.U Learning Management System (LMS) already have access to an AI-powered eLearning platform tailored specifically to the needs of HVACR professionals. Artificial intelligence can analyze what kind of content users prefer (and consume), then can provide real-time feedback and support with personalized recommendations for similar courses and content.

Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality

While still in relative infancy, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies are changing the way we train and learn. Training in AR and VR has the potential to be faster, safer, and more cost-effective than traditional methods, and candidates are more likely to retain what they have learned because they can immediately apply newly acquired skills through virtual simulations. Despite their similar names, augmented reality is different from virtual reality in that AR modifies the current surroundings, while VR creates a new virtual environment altogether.

Microlearning & Mobile Learning

Microlearning has already gained significant traction in the eLearning space and involves breaking down learning content into bite-sized, easily digestible chunks. Mobile learning allows learners to access content on the go, using their smartphones or tablets. By design, HARDI’s HEAT.U is responsive, which means that most content can be viewed on any device including a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.

Gamification

Gamification uses the principles of game design to make learning more engaging, interactive, and fun. With HARDI’s HEAT.U LMS, we can include elements like progress indicators, points, badges, and leaderboards, to incentivize your learners to complete courses and achieve their learning goals.

The Future of eLearning

In keeping with our mission to make wholesale distributors the channel of choice for HVACR manufacturers and contractors, HARDI has always looked for opportunities to engage in collaborative learning and knowledge sharing. In fact, we have recently expanded our Talent and Market Intelligence teams, doubling down on our efforts to create more eLearning content, collaborate with more eLearning providers, facilitate more immersive experiences, and provide more expert advice. Through eLearning, HARDI is poised to empower HVACR Distributors to thrive in the digital era and beyond.
